Scent in the Air

I thought Winston was doing better at housetraining.

Turns out, Tyler has been dropping the poop into the heating vent in his bedroom.

For who knows how long.

I can't really talk about this yet.

I PROMISE you....this will be hilarious in ten years and as the mother of boys, you will wear it as a badge of honor, having survived mothering those rascals!

One of the funniest memories I have of my boys (mothers of perfect, orderly daughters, cover your ears) is the time we power washed the house and discovered that our boys had been urinating through the screen, out their 2nd story bedroom window! (front of the hosue, of course!) Why??? Their bathroom was mere steps away.

Perhaps there was some element of danger or adventure involved. I have no idea and I didn't really think it was funny at the time, but now that they are 20 and 17.5, I think it's hilarious and love to tell the story (though not to the girlfriend...yet). : )

Oh no! I have to say it is funny, but if it were my kids, I don't think I would be laughing!

Oh. My. Goodness. I am sorry, but this really made me laugh. Thank you for sharing.

(Paula, I'm gonna try VERY hard to pretend that I never read that!)

I can understand your not wanting to talk about it....but is it bad of me to say that if Tyler wants to talk about it I hope you'll tell us what he said? I'm curious what his creative mind invented as a reason and permission...or maybe more to the point, what he'll invent on the spot if you ask him. I'm with Paula: it has the making of legend all over it... a LONG time from now. In the meantime, hugs to you. It smells gross in here just thinking about it.

Omigosh!
We were visiting my sister when my son was about 3. He and my niece (who was also about 3) were playing in the basement. I heard my son say " ew, that smells like poop". Upon investigation we discovered that he had found the cat little and told his cousin that it didn't smell good and should be cleaned. They had proceeded to empty the dirty litter into my sister's washing machine!
I think it's hilarious...now! ;-)

I showed this post to my fourteen year old son and he wondered about the thought process involved in this "redistribution". He is certain there is brilliance to this act - and he would like to know how your little man decided on this course of action. He also recommended moving to Florida as our vents are in the ceiling and not available for this sort of use.

Praise God you discovered this deposit in the summer months and not the winter.

Be thankful that this was discovered before the furnace came on in the winter! I once found about a month's worth of my sons morning vitamins down the heating vent! So glad you are writing these things down!

This calls for a memory from my childhood... Mom investigated a strange rancid odor coming from my room. Once discovered, she carefully explained that while it's ok to pour milk down the big sink in the kitchen, it is NOT ok to pour it down the toy sink in my room - the big one has a drain, the little one has cardboard.

Yes, it took some years, but we both laugh now.
