[at the breakfast table]
Tucker: Mommy, drink.
Me: Tuck, how do you ask nicely? (I may have settled for this muttering a while back, when that's all he could string together. But no longer, my little man. Use your words.)
Tuck: Mommy, just get it.
Excuse me?? Hold it one second there, young man.
I'm sure I don't need to tell you what kind of character reshaping took place in the next moment. I promise you, he got the message.
There will be no more of that.

Oh, Tucker. The lessons are just beginning, my friend. Good thing your Mommy is a natural!
That cracks me up. What did you say to him...??
I need to start writing all the funny things Caleb says on my blog, too. Like when we were explaining while daddy was gone he'd be the "man of the house"...and he thought that meant he could put me to bed whenever he wanted. ?? Right...
I told him that I most certainly would NOT 'just get it,' and he would need to ask nicely if he ever wanted a drink again in his life.
That's all.
